205. Elizabeth HUNTER
was born in 1826 in Speedwell, Claiborne, Tennessee. She died about 1860
in Nevada, Vernon, Missouri. From a Posting in St. Clair Message Board:
Jasper DAVIS, son of Wiley and Jane (____) Davis, married Elizabeth HUNTER at
Schuyler county IL June 5, 1844. Elizabeth died before 1863 and Jasper married
(2) Ava (RILEY) Hunter, widow of Benjamin F. HUNTER, brother of Elizabeth.
In 1870 Jasper and Ava were living in St. Clair County MO and the children of
Benjamin HUNTER were called DAVIS. I don't know whether they were formally adopted,
but it appears they carried the DAVIS name.
The children of Jasper and Elizabeth (HUNTER) DAVIS were:
1) William H., born in 1846;
2) Sarah E., born in 1848;
3) Grace, born in 185?
4) Ann "Nancy," born in 1860.
The children of Benjamin F. and Ava (RILEY) Hunter, called Davis in the 1870
census, were:
1) Sarah Jane, born January 4, 1858;
2) George Washington, born October 15, 1861.
Does anyone have any info on any of these children? Who did they marry? Were
there families?
Any information will be a great help.
